Around 56 million abortions are done every year and not all of them are safe. Pregnancy laws vary from country to country. As of 2008 less than half of the women of the world have access to legal abortions. Moreover, it some countries impose legislations on abortions depending on how long she has been in pregnancy. Earlier, abortions used to be done through herbs, by sharp tools or other traditional methods. Facilitating abortion varies from country to country is due to the socio-cultural views associated with abortion.

Knowing the procedure
Abortions can be done in multiple ways. Medical abortions are carried out through the consumption of an abortifacient. A very popular abortifacients used in medical abortions is mifepristone, typically used along with misoprostol or gemeprost, which are prostaglandins (physiologically active lipid compounds that works like hormones are derived from fatty acids) a two-step process effective within the two months of pregnancy.

Surgical abortions include the procedure of suction-aspiration whereby the fetus, placenta, membranes, all of it either by a manual syringe or an electric pump. Opening the cervix of the uterus and emptying it with instruments, which is called dilation and evacuation is also a form of induced pregnancy which is performed during the 15th to 26th week of pregnancy. If it is later to that, intact dilation and extraction is performed which is the extraction of the fetus through a small incision or what is known as a caesarean section.

The major conflict of abortion is between the questions of life with that of one’s right; killing of the fetus is the slaughter of an innocent being versus the fact that a woman should have the right to choose since it is her body. The basic intention behind having an abortion is to postpone the rearing of a child for a later point of time. It is not always a question of unprotected sexual intercourse between two youngsters, it can often happen that the family cannot afford to feed another mouth and instead of plunging a child’s life into that of abject poverty it is better to prevent that child from being born.

While writing on abortion…
In the world only 45% of the women have access to the procedure of abortion. Even today, religious laws, cultural traditions and customs continue to affect the regulations regarding abortions. These are to be kept in mind while attempting to write on abortion. Facts must be supplied along with a brief overview of the procedure so that it can enlighten people. Promotion of sex education in schools must be asserted in your writings since practicing safe and protected sex can prevent any unwanted toll on the body and mind of a woman and there is no need of killing off a new life.

Immigration Mon, 19 Feb 2018 09:57:09 +0000 Continue Reading »]]> Immigration is the movement of people over the global to a destined country with the intention of settling down; to become a citizen of that country. As of 2015, there are 244 million international migrants in 20 countries, the maximum concentration of migrants being in 19% the USA, followed by Germany, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the UK and the UAE. Economists have found that Immigration is beneficial both from the country people are coming from and the country they are migrating.

Benefits of immigration
Say for instance, a person migrates from a place where the population is immense; there is a scarcity of jobs, literacy is not widespread, government cannot provide for so many people, by migrating, these people reduce the pressure from their countries, loosening the pressure on the exchequer. Moreover, when these people start working in other places, considering that the migration is usually from a third world country to a first, they send money to their homeland as remittances. These remittances help a lot of lives in developing countries. India is the largest international remittance receiver, followed by China then the Philippines at the third position.

Immigration also contributes to the GDP of the country receiving the immigrants. Immigrants help by flowing into industries where there is a shortage of workers in the low-skilled and high-skilled labor markets. By auctioning immigration permits depending on how a person is skilled, a market for immigration permits would be created and people can come with guaranteed jobs. Creating a market for permits can enable the country to earn enough revenue to use it to ameliorate the pressure on the services, owing to immigration.

The biggest problem for an immigrant in a new place is acclimatizing not only to the physical climate but also to the socio-cultural one. Immigrants often face hardships embracing the new culture and traditions and can find them to be overwhelming, leading to unexpected awkwardness in social gatherings. Those who travel to a foreign land, more so if they are alone, after some time, feel a conflict of identity: there is a need to latch on to ones’ roots and the need to embrace the new culture; a conflict of the self and the other.

Writing on immigration
Two approaches can be taken while talking about immigration. As mentioned above, the socio-cultural impact can be dealt with, referring to works by authors, autobiographies more than anything, of immigrants, their struggle to adapt to their new world; their idea of the ‘home’. This where literatures that came out of partition between two lands, separation of countries can be very insightful. Besides the socio-cultural approach, an economic standpoint can also be observed, in that case mention the benefits of migration and how it has affected countries over time; whether or not should some countries ban immigration, providing strong instances to validate your point.

Essay About Love Fri, 16 Feb 2018 09:17:55 +0000 Continue Reading »]]> In scientific terms, love is a chemical reaction in your brain caused by the flooding of endorphins and other neurochemicals like oxytocin, dopamine, vasopressing the emotional cortex of the brain. Easier said than felt. A pragmatist might call it a momentary loss of neural control when met with something very attractive or what one, individually, perceives to be attractive. There is no one particular image associated with the idea of love. There are several senses of the idea of love, several terminologies not that only help us in terms of comprehensibility, to the benefit or loss of another person.

What is it like?
There is no one specific, concrete definition for love. It is different for different for different people; no two persons will have the same definition of blood, no matter how closely they are related. For some it is the same as the pleasures of skin, desire; for some it is what they feel in the company of a special someone; while for another it is enjoying a variety of gourmet dishes. Love is not and should not be restricted by the conventional heteronormative understanding of it. Moreover, it need not has to be for someone, it can be for something too.

When in love…
When in love, you will not be able to make head or tail of your emotions. You will want to be with that thing or person or in a place all the time. All their or its imperfections do not make the slightest difference to you. It is something only one can know when he or she will feel it happen, it is like an automatic sensory response that comes from within. It does not have a life span, it can be for a fleeting minute or an entire lifetime, you can never know for sure.

Writing love: can you?
Several have found it easier to express their feelings in written words that those of mouth. Writings on love is as old writing itself. Over time lots and lots of people have wrote novels and stories and poems and epics and ballads and odes on love. Remember that there is no one particular way meant for writing on love but it must give meaning to your feelings, that is, unless you want to make it public or at least share with your friends. If it is just for you, you write whatever your heart desires. You let the ink flow like a pretty horse, running across a meadow.

Before writing on love, try giving a read to those beautiful novels that pit a love story against an age of turmoil, political revolution, a war, a journey. Again, the idea of love is not restricted by heteronormative conventions. One must broaden their field of vision to at least try, if not be able to, fathom the immensity, the depth, the complexity of the feeling and sensation of love.
